Inspired by The Rebellion Gallery at the castle
Today we are at year zero of Generative AI, a pivotal moment in history Employing AI, my artwork will juxtapose the Luddite movement with today's AI revolution, inviting viewers to traverse eras and reflect on technology's societal impact. Harnessing AI to craft a digital image/ lace pattern. The artwork captures 19th-century Luddite rioters with a mechanical loom, intertwining the rebellious resistance in Nottingham's history with modern digital creativity.

I am Jim Brouwer, an audio-visual creative technologist + “AV wizard”. (Yes, I get introduced as this regularly) I am dyslexic, driven, and damn good at what I do.
"Empowering curiosity through art and technology, I navigate the unasked questions to illuminate the unseen and redefine the boundaries of creative expression.”
I transform artists' great ideas into reality with remarkable technical achievement, creating unforgettable experiences.
I've ignited my creative passions, demonstrating the transformative power of sharing knowledge and innovation.
My recent approach leverages digital tools & AI, amplifying my creative output and idea generation.
Driven by a passion for lifelong learning, curiosity, and the application of creativity, I'm committed to exploring the cutting-edge. I aim to make a meaningful impact, leveraging my unique perspective as a neurodivergent thinker to see potential where others might not, both for myself and the wider community.
Over 20+ years, I have collaborated with artists like Mark Leckey and Jarvis Cocker at venues, including the Liverpool Biennial, to create unforgettable experiences, turning visions into reality.
Commissions from Junction Arts, Primary, Nottingham Contemporary, Lovebytes Festival, Leeds City Art Gallery, Sonar Festival, HTBA Nottingham Light Night & Winning Nottingham Castle open.
My engagement with technology, especially in creative problem-solving, extends to diverse projects. A notable collaboration with Sahjan Kooner on the "To and Fro" project at Primary introduced me to the wonders of AI, sparking a journey into Generative AI workshops that brought fresh perspectives to participants in March 2023.
This brings us to the proposed: Bot Feeders Podcast
An audacious podcast melding interviews with a live, AI-fueled art showing, Bot Feeders challenged guests to create absurdist artworks through real-time prompting of generative AI tools. It's art as entertainment, education as instigator.
Amidst the humour and artistry, audiences gain privileged access to the future of human/machine co-creation. Jim and his cohorts don't just rebel against the mundane - they instigate a revolution in perceiving the creative process.
